Cheque Issue
If you are authorized to instruct that checks be issued, the Check Issue tab will be visible after you log in. This tab provides you with four options:
- Terminal: A virtual terminal that you may use to instruct that checks be issued
- Batches: A screen that allows you to search for and review check issue files you have created. RAVEN organizes issued payments into batches based on the currency and the payment routing number.
- Payments: A screen that allows you to search for individual payments
- Returns: A screen from which you may search for cancelled items
Submit Individual Check Orders Via RAVEN’s Virtual Terminal
Throughout the course of the day, you can use the Terminal to order checks. Four types of information will be required to create a transaction: Payment Information, Processing Information, Shipping Address and Return Address. Mandatory fields are shown in bold.
- Payment Information
- Beneficiary name
- Amount (in decimals) and Currency
- Reference (your reference information; to a maximum of 30 characters)
- Processing Information
- Promotion (select the relevant PRN or Promotion name from a drop down list)
- File name (the default is set to your user id and a system generated file name which includes the date; you may modify this to a file name of your choosing)
- Shipping Address
- Country of delivery
- Shipment method – choose from regular mail or courier
- Address

Once a transaction has been entered, CLICK the Process button. As you continue to add transactions, they will appear at the bottom of the screen, along with their status. If the currency of checks you would like to issue is not available from the drop down list for the required promotion, please contact Client Support.

Review and Release Files
A file will be identified as InProgress until the file is released. If you wish to have your files automatically released, simply CLICK on Settings at the top of the page and select the release option that best suits your needs. You can choose to have your open files automatically released at the end of each day, or every seven days. Files that have not been released after seven days will automatically be voided and you will need to recreate the file in order to process the payments.
If you do not wish to have your files automatically released, you may manually release them. It is recommended that at the end of each day, you visit the Files tab and either release or void your files. Select the box to the left of the file name and CLICK Release or Void.

Submit Multiple Payments Via Batch File
As with credit card files, you may also upload check issue files in a RAVEN .csv or .txt format using the Upload button on the home page.
